Geometric Superstars ***

One product above and beyond all of my pieces has a standout reputation, yes my Geometric Bright Ear Studs. With almost four thousand views, almost a thousand favourites and on a ridiculous number of Treasury Lists I seemed to have hit the jackpot in terms of making something that is very funky and now, while also making lots of classic pretty pieces using the divine Liberty fabrics.

Geometric is all over the fashion and art world lately, in lovely brights, muted pastels and also in good old monochrome - I have used variations of Liberty of London fabrics to make up a few fun pieces, if you'd like something custom made in any of them, just ask! Happy Friday everyone.

I'll leave you with a Friday tune, this is my son's favourite and suits the Geometric theme perfectly. XX

Settle Down

It's been Kimbra month here at Bevo Central, all five of us piping up with lines and refrains and bopping away through the house singing along to her amazing songs, even Geordie will come out with a random 'boom bah boom bah!'

Asha and I saw her in concert earlier in the month, it a was seriously stunning show - that girl can sing, she can move and she can entertain.

I recently came across these stunning photographs of her by the amazing Australian photographer Thom Kerr - it is seriously hard to believe that she is only 22, so exciting to see her star rise across the world.

and of course a tune.
Boom bah Boom BAH!

Pieces of a Party

It's time to shake off the blog cobwebs and try to post a little more often! Life is busy here at Dusty Plum Central - I know it's the same for a lot of people but my three children, husband, house, renovation, and cat keep me on my toes, there is always something to do and around thirteen things waiting to be done.

One thing I did do last weekend was to throw a fourth birthday party for my littlest man, Geordie. I managed to get myself into my usual party panic and to be honest I was more stressed about this one than other parties in the past! I'm not sure why. Usually we hold parties at parks but this time he wanted one at home so there were a few more elements to consider. However it all went well, chaotic and loud, and most importantly the birthday boy was super happy.

The Gman wanted a traditional party so that's what he got, with crafting, pass the parcel, a visit from a gorgeous clown named Rosie Nose, face painting and a piƱata and lots of colourful and yummy party food.

The children decorated crowns, masks and magic wands.

Face, arm and hand painting and confetti filled balloons.

The gorgeous Rosie Nose kept the kids entertained with juggling, balloon animals and stories.

Colourful happy food!

Then lastly Pass the Parcel, PiƱata and Cake .. the guests went home, and Mama collapsed with a large glass of wine! Of course he's already asking how many days until his next birthday!

It glows :)

Liberty of London have released their new Art Prints range recently. You could never, not ever accuse them of being boring! Or predictable!

One of the new fabrics is titled Dr Tulloch and to say that I am madly in love with it is an understatement!

The description from the Liberty website is as follows.
"
This digital print was created from a watercolour painting of a chaotic bookcase in the writing room tucked away in the gardens of Glencot House in Somerset. The books were thrown together as if in a textured pile creating an abstract pattern.
"

I have used the fabric in the blue and red colour ways in my Danish style mahogany wooden brooches, I hope that you like them as much as I do! They have a real 'glow' about them and a shimmer with the gold tones, just beautiful.

Isn't it pretty? Almost opalescent!

And I've used the red in some lovely large hair ties. Pretty!

Enjoy the rest of your week! XX
